Abstract:
Centroidal Voronoi tessellations (CVTs) are special Voronoi tessellations having the property that the generators of the Voronoi tessellation are also the centers of mass, with respect to a given density function of the corresponding Voronoi cells. CVTs enjoy an optimization characterization so that they themselves turn out to be very useful in many applications. In this talk, we will review some high-quality mesh generation techniques for volumes or manifolds based on Centroidal Voronoi Tessellation or its duality Centroidal Voronoi Delaunay Triangulation (CVDT).
